Tylee had her first trip to the dentist yesterday. They told me to bring her along with me to my appointment and they would see how much she would let them do. I was honestly expecting a huge tantrum and no dental work but she was a rockstar!
They were able to do a full exam complete with polishing and cleaning!
I was so proud of her! Unfortunately, we had a cavity on the very back part of her back tooth so we will be going back in a couple of weeks to get that filled. We'll see if she is a rockstar then. Keep your fingers crossed!

Preschool Field Trip

I took last Thursday morning off and went to the Fire Station with Tylee's preschool. I went and visited her school in the Fall but it was way too early in the year and she just kinda clung to me. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. I knew she needed time to adjust without me so I have avoided field trips or visiting for most of the year. When I realized that this may be the last one, I decided to give it a go.
I was so proud of Tylee! She sat with her class, talked to her friends, and even volunteered to do the activity! A huge improvement!! They had to lay down on the bed, wait for the smoke alarm to beep, crawl under the smoke, feel the door to see if it was hot, go to the window and call out for help, then crawl out backwards. She aced it!
Here she is volunteering to hold the Firemans glove!
The Fire Station did a great job teaching the kids about fires and fire safety. I was very impressed! Tylee was so excited about the whole deal as well, which is great.
After the field trip, I hung around in Tylee's class and watched recess and helped with snack time. I asked her teacher how she is doing compared to the beginning of the year and she told me that she was very quiet. I must've looked shocked because she said, "Is she not quiet at home?" Ummm...no. Very much the opposite. Ha! She said she is really good though, interacts with the kids (although she said she doesn't know if they actually talk when they play), and talks when necessary. Overall, I was pretty pleased with her progress. We had a great day together and I'm actually kinda sad that I've opted out of the other field trips. Oh well, I have 13 more years to go on field trips with her, because we all know she'll want me around when she is a senior, right?

It was our tradition when I was a little girl to start off the lake season with Easter. The Easter Bunny always came down there to hide eggs and leave our baskets out. I have some very fun memories of Easter at the lake so when my Dad invited Tj, Tylee, and I down - I was so excited! My little family of 3 at my favorite place in the world on Easter. Can't beat that!

My Dad is a pro and loves to color Easter Eggs. My Grandpa used to always make eyes out of his eggs and of course, like father like son. Tylee had no idea why she was putting an egg up to her eye but she thinks Papa is so funny that she just did whatever he did. Not a good idea, Tylee!
Tylee's 2nd cousins were there too and it was fun to see them play. I was close to my cousins growing up and I hope the same for Tylee. She is off to a pretty good start!
It rained and rained and rained some more (hence Tylee's hair in the picture above) but we didn't let that spoil our fun! Tj got my Dad's canopy wired, we colored eggs, vistited with Grandma, ate some delicious food...and waited on the Easter Bunny to come Sunday morning!
He came! Tylee is Lalaloopsy-crazy right now so he brought her a basket full of goodies as well as the Lalaloopsy Silly Hair doll. Spoiled rotten!
Poor Boone! His feet hurt so bad from all the rocks, he wouldn't even go for a walk with Tj, Tylee and I on Sunday morning. He was ready to go HOME...but I know a couple of girls that weren't ready! Soon enough, soon enough.

Incredible Pizza

After we went to the Zoo last weekend, we went on in to Tulsa and hit up Incredible Pizza. Tylee is pretty matter of fact when she tells you that, "I am not scared of anything!! Except sometimes, I am afraid of some things. But I am scared of Chucke Cheese." (Her exact words. I know it doesn't make sense.) She tries so hard to be brave! But not when it comes to Chucke Cheese - she doesn't even pretend not to be scared of him! So I thought Incredible Pizza would be perfect - all the games but no Chucke!
Isn't he so cute? He lost both his front teeth AND had an accident and skinned his nose! Poor guy!
Turns out, Incredible Pizza is too big for Tylee. (That was my opinion, anyways.) There were a lot of games for younger kids and then a lot of games for older kids but not much for the in-between.
The highlight of the trip for Tylee was the mini-bowling. We haven't been bowling since she was pretty little but apparently we need to go again! She loved it - as is obvious by the video below.

Since Tylee didn't love Incredible Pizza, we loaded up before Lindsey and her kids and headed to Build-a-Bear. We haven't been in awhile and since it was right across the street, I figured we could squeeze one more thing into a very busy day. It was definitely the "cherry-on-top" for Tylee (although I left the camera in the car.)
